Going to the grocery store becomes an explorations for things to paint. I look at textures. Is the skin smooth, shiny or dull? Does it grow on a stem or on the ground? What does the weight in my hand feel like? Is it hard or mushy? I look closely at color and form. What will challenge me? What might be good for dinner?
